A winter long awaited

The 2022 winter season has been one of pleasant surprises and delights at every turn

The unexpected arrival of a blanketing of snow in June meant our guests started enjoying our heliski experiences much earlier than a typical season, and we sure made the most of it! The Alpine Lodge has been bustling, with evenings spent fireside enjoying the incredible cuisine and cocktails, and it has been so special to welcome out international guests back through this time. Days have been boasting with adventures exploring the remote wonders of the South Island.

Many of our guests have been taking full advantage of our exclusive heliski terrain with the season’s beautiful snow conditions. We’ve welcomed endless light & dry winter powder which has allowed guests to enjoy long sustained runs and impressive coverage. There have been few limitations to the terrain visited. Thanks to a strong start to the season, we expect to continue enjoying days like this until the end of September.

With days slowly becoming longer as we approach the Spring portion of the season, some of our guests have taken full advantage of all that New Zealand has to offer with some magic combinations of Minaret Station Experiences.

As we move into September & October our heli-ski and heli-bike combination becomes a favourite for the adventure enthusiasts, looking to combine the best of both worlds into one incredible day. For those looking for an immersive scenic experience, the Fiordland Heli Traverse offers the perfect solution. Pass through majestic fiords, get close to impressive waterfalls and see the region’s unique wildlife in its otherwise inaccessible natural habitat. Hover over glaciers of ancient blue ice and land in the snow at the beautiful, isolated mountain lakes for photographs and celebratory bubbles.
