A Day at Minaret Station with Mint Charitable Trust
Creating memories to last a lifetime
Mint Charitable Trust is a local nonprofit founded in 2017. Mint was founded to support parents, children, and young adults with intellectual disabilities in the Wanaka region. The organization develops its own weekly programmes which might include classes from dance, gym, and swimming. These programmes provide much-needed physical, intellectual, and social engagement for children and young adults with intellectual disabilities all the while helping improve their confidence, independence and friendships.
The day began with an exciting boat trip across Lake Wanaka. After arriving to the station group members had the opportunity to interact with the pet animals on the farm at Minaret Station. Mint then enjoyed a live sheep shearing experience and topped the afternoon off with a delicious BBQ lunch prepared by Minaret Stations chef, Al Wilson.
Mint’s memorable day concluded with the surprise arrival of Santa and the opportunity to enjoy a scenic helicopter flight to view the farm from above. It was such a special day hosting the Mint Trust crew at Minaret Station. We very much look forward to future opportunities to share our special part of the world.
